Annual General Meeting 2011
The annual general meeting of the parent’s
association was held in the school library on
Tuesday Nov 8th. The meeting was very well
attended. The meeting heard detailed reports
from honorary Secretary Siobhain Enright and
honorary Treasurer Sarah Morrisson. After
successful fundraising during the year Sarah was
in the happy position to hand over a cheque for
€6,000 to the school as a contribution to the
book rental scheme.
Chairman Paul Mullins reported on the activities
of the parents' association during the year, the
highlight of which was the coming together of
the three parents' associations of the local
secondary schools to organise the David Coleman
event in March at the Corrin Event Centre and
the recent Dr Fergus Heffernan talk. He thanked
Fermoy Medical centre for their generous
sponsorship of the David Coleman talk. He
expressed his appreciation of Principal Dermot
Coakley’s co-operation with the parents
association and said he felt it was a good year
for the school. He finished by thanking all
those who attended meetings and helped with the
various events and he especially thanked
outgoing officers Secretary Siobhan Enright and
Treasurer Sarah Morrison for all their tireless
work during their time in office.
Principal Dermot Coakley addressed the meeting
giving a comprehensive account of the major
happenings during the year in the school. He
gave detailed accounts of the Management,
Leadership and Learning school examination and
also the major building improvements to the
school which were carried out during the summer.
He thanked the parents association for their
support and for the financial support as a
result of fundraising.
There was an open discussion which concluded the
meeting.
